Brief Profile:

Galip L.Yalman, is an Associate Professor (em) of Political Science in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. His research interests extend from state theory to international and comparative political economy. He is the author of Transition to Neoliberalism: The Case of Turkey in the 1980s, (Istanbul Bilgi University Press, 2009);  “Crises as Driving Forces of Neoliberal ‘Trasformismo’: The Contours of the Turkish Political Economy since the 2000s” in Alan Cafruny et al. (eds.) The Palgrave Handbook of Critical International Political Economy, Palgrave-Macmillan, 2016; and co-editor of Economic Transitions to Neoliberalism in Middle Income Countries, (London, Routledge, 2010) and The Political Economy of Financial Transformation in Turkey (London, Routledge, 2018). He was the local coordinator in Turkey of FESSUD, Financialization, Economy, Society and Sustainable Development, EU funded Framework Seven Project, December 2011- November 2016. He is currently the President of the Turkish Social Sciences Association.
