Ephraim is an acupuncturist recognized as one of the leading researchers and professors in the field of Chinese medicine in Brazil. Since 1995 he has pioneered a series of innovative and important projects for the development of Chinese medicine in Brazil and abroad.

He is also a collaborator of researchers in several international institutions, member of the International Academy of Sciences – health and ecology (IAS – Munich), member of the editorial board of the Macau Journal of Chinese Medicine (Portuguese Language Branch) and member of international research groups at Austria and South Korea.

Since 2005 Ephraim has been coordinator of academic exchange groups and training in short courses in Chinese medicine for Brazilian acupuncturists in China (given by Chinese institutions).
Ephraim has already facilitated the academic exchange of more than 650 professional students in China, mainly from Brazil, but also from Argentina, Portugal and Japan.

Since 2006 he has resided in China where he serves as director of the International Department of Education and Research at the Center for the Study of Acupuncture and Alternative Medicine (CEATA-São Paulo-Brasil).

In addition to his work with Chinese medicine, Ephraim has extensive experience as a webmaster, webdesigner, content and instruction designer and manager of E-learning environments such as Moodle, Blackboard, TelEduc and WordPress for E-learning, being a pioneer (both in Brazil and in the world) in the use of virtual learning environments to teach acupuncture and Chinese Medicine theories (since 1995).
