Toussaint Losier is an Assistant Professor in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He holds a PhD. in History from the University of Chicago and is co-author of Rethink- ing the American Prison Movement (Routledge, 2017). He is a former organizer with the Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign and Southside Together Organiz- ing for Power (STOP). Currently, he is an active member of the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), a people-centered human rights project against war, repres- sion, and imperialism.
