The peace actions of women are rooted in their everyday life where they gain their strength for actions too. The result of their actions also has an effect on life. It’s a cycle that never stops, just like the eco-farming, the urban-rural interaction and the community building work that they do. PEACE is…

“All girls from poor families could go to university”;

“The desert to become oasis, human beings and nature in harmony”;

“Gender equality, Muslims and non-Muslims in solidarity”;

“All kids, rural or urban, male or female, should have the right to receive education”……

These definitions of peace are given by ordinary women from Mainland China. As questions of development, poverty, environmental deterioration, urban-rural division, and unequal educational opportunities become more acute, these women have to tackle visible and invisible violence in their everyday life with different practices, courage and wisdom.

This documentary explores new concepts of peace largely through the stories of three women: Wang Pinsong, a rural women living beside the Jin Sha River; Jin Meihua, a woman imam in a Muslim mosque; Zhang Shuqin, a director of a home for children of convicts. It hopes to let the world see the outstanding contribution to peace by these ordinary Chinese women.
