Jason Nardi is president of RIES (Italian Solidarity Economy Network) and co-founder of Solidarius Italia (solidarius.it), an organization that promotes research, training and development of solidarity economy circuits, part of an international network based in Brazil (Solidarius.net). Trainer on the themes of solidarity economy and ethical finance, Jason is general delegate of RIPESS EU – Solidarity Economy Europe and coordinator of the board of directors of RIPESS, the Intercontinental Network for the Promotion of Social Solidarity Economy, which brings together grassroots initiatives, cooperative and social enterprises, academic and institutional members all over the world. RIPESS is recognized by ECOSOC and is an observer member of the United Nations Interagency Task Force on the SSE (UNSSE.org). Promoter of environmental and social justice, common goods and communication rights, Jason is an active member of the International Council of the World Social Forum and promoter of the World Social Forum on Transformative Economies. With a background in communication and media (Princeton University, USA and a Master’s degree from the University of Florence), he was director of Unimondo, the Italian center of Oneworld.net – an international portal on global rights – and worked for the Fondazione Finanza Etica and the annual Terra Futura event. Jason is currently on the board of directors of the Italian NGO COSPE (cospe.org). He lives in Florence, where he promotes projects of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), mutualism (in MAG Florence) and the Forum Firenze Beni Comuni (Florence Forum of the Commons).
